Since its inception in 2015, the National Diesel, Dirt and Turf Expo (DD&T) has quickly become Australia’s largest construction trade show.
Each year, tens of thousands of people travel from across the nation and internationally to witness the very latest innovations in construction machinery. From displays of new machines and attachments to showcasing emerging technologies, eventgoers are dazzled by the impressive equipment on display.
As an exhibitor, DD&T is particularly rewarding as it allows us to engage with people from so many industries and disciplines. We are given the opportunity to better learn their needs and to demonstrate the versatility and flexibility of our SANY earthmoving equipment.
We began our journey with DD&T in 2021 and each year have continued to expand our stand, driven by the desire to make our exhibit bigger and better than the previous. Allow us to take you on a visual journey through our exciting four-year history with DD&T.
2021
In our first DD&T event, we had several of our SANY excavator fleet on display so attendees could take the opportunity to get up close and personal with our impressive machines. Our demo dig pit drew much attention, showcasing the remarkable power and versatility of our earthmoving equipment. Over 700 people entered our competition to win a remote-controlled excavator, and 25 lucky winners took one home over the course of the three-day event. With SANY Australia/New Zealand HQ only recently launched in September 2020, DD&T 2021 provided the perfect platform to introduce eventgoers to a new heavy player in the market.
2022
For our 2022 showcase we booked the same-sized stand as 2021, a modest 500m2 site that enabled us to display some of our mini, small, and compact excavators. The 8.8T SY80U made its trade show debut at this event, impressing eventgoers with its minimal slewing radius and compact dimensions. On the back of the success of our previous DD&T competition, we launched SANY Snaps – a photo-based competition offering more chances to win our popular remote-controlled excavators. While initially a small team, in response to the needs of our customers we had expanded the territories we could service and grown our team. Consequently, there were greater numbers of YELLO staff as well as SANY representatives on site to answer any questions and outline the unique qualities that make our machines stand apart from the crowd.
2023
“Bigger is better” was our motto for DD&T 2023. We took it up several notches with bigger machines and a much bigger stand – nearly triple the size of the 2021 and 2022 events. Our machine range grew as well, with YELLO™ having expanded our product offering to now include rollers and wheel loaders. A key attraction was the fully electric excavator, the SY19E, which, in conjunction with SANY Australia, we presented for the first time ever at the trade event. We expanded our prizes too, with a $5000 voucher to spend on a SANY machine among the winnings. Our SANY OEM rebate program on equipment purchased at the event was a hit, with many attendees keen to take up the offer. Our previous efforts to educate the market about SANY were shown to have paid off with many eventgoers showing familiarity with both the YELLO™ and SANY brands. We were also thrilled to have many SANY VIP dignitaries make the journey from SANY HQ to attend DD&T 2023.
2024
In our fourth consecutive year of attendance, we continued to expand, conscious of the eventgoers’ experience as they moved through our stand. A key goal was to bring entertainment value while also educating spectators about SANY’s impressive range of heavy equipment which at this year’s show has expanded even further from last. Our unique activities on offer – from a photo booth with fun props to our SANY Explorer activity – were a hit with families and professionals alike. 24 SANY machines populated the stand, exhibiting the diversity of the earthmoving equipment we had on offer. Attendees were impressed by the telehandlers, rollers, wheel loaders, and excavators on display. Our joint SANY-Putzmeister and YELLO™ stand reflected our continued growth as we actively pursue opportunities to provide better services to the earthmoving industry.

We’re thrilled at our remarkable DD&T journey over the past four years, made possible by our driven, innovative, and dedicated staff who have helped action our goal of making each DD&T bigger and better than the last. Looking back at our history with DD&T also illuminates the great growth YELLO™ has experienced during this period. We’ve expanded our products, regions we can service, and our overall capacity in our commitment to be “with you all the way”. Ever responsive to our customers’ needs, we now have servicing and parts divisions and the capacity to conduct on-site repairs. This enables us to look after your SANY equipment for the life of the machine. We’ve expanded our trade show attendance outside of DD&T as well, and greatly benefit from the chance to speak to professionals working in more regional areas.
