We spoke with YELLO Racing™ Team Member, Azza, to get the scoop on the TEKA Endurance Racing’s Round 6, 9 hour stint at Port Macquarie last weekend following his feature on the local news!

Aaron (Azza) Fitzgerald was happy to see a positive progression of all the karts within the team over the weekend seeing them regularly occupying the pointy end of the table throughout the event. There is always a curve ball to deal with over the course of such long race or weekend and fortunately, no mechanical issues came up although for the Saturday race the team missed the ideal setup window slightly which meant driving to preserve the kart to ensure it was able to race strongly with on the Sunday after making the required changes.
“As the year has progressed coupled with the team’s positive performances I have to admit the expectations have risen to match that. We started the year with fairly conservative goals. The team as a whole has risen to the occasion each round and are now regularly competing for podium places. The Port Macquarie round of the championship was particularly tough on equipment so we will have to make sure we leave no stone unturned when getting ready for Tamworth.“ Said Aaron.
“Going away, racing with the guys is such a welcome distraction from the pressures of work, business and the world we are in at the moment. Results aside, the camaraderie, the jokes, and the mate-ship are worth every effort.”
